Four Paths, One Destination

With the travel basket between them, Puschel and Flauschi followed the coloured trail to the edge of the forest. There the path divided: spring blossoms lay to the left, summer grass shone beside them, autumn leaves rustled to the right and fresh snow crunched along the outer edge.

Puschel pointed to all four trails in turn. Puschel“We need four baskets and simply walk everywhere at once.” Flauschi carefully turned the glass flower in the morning light. Each of its petals answered with a gentle glow.

She noticed that the four ways were separate only at the beginning. Among the trees, they slowly curved towards one another. In the distance shimmered an arch made entirely from large drops of dew.

Flauschi“We do not have to choose a season at all,” Flauschi said. Flauschi“They all want to lead us to the same place.” Puschel picked up the basket. Puschel“Very convenient. I would not have known which of the four baskets should carry breakfast anyway.”

They chose the middle trail, where blossoms, grass, leaves and snow formed a narrow pattern. The glass flower shone in Flauschi’s paws, and beyond the dew gate four colours moved like a distant garden in the wind.
