Breakfast for Every Kind of Weather

Before Puschel and Flauschi followed an unknown trail, Flauschi insisted on a proper breakfast. She placed two warm leaf cups on the wooden table, prepared leaf-shaped bread and filled a small bowl with berries and hazelnuts.

Puschel packed the travel basket. First he added the bread, then another piece and finally, for safety, almost the entire loaf. Puschel“We do not know how long four seasons might take.”

The glass flower lay in the centre of the table. Its four petals cast pink, golden, orange-red and icy-blue pools of light across the wood. Outside, a little snow melted beside the spring blossoms while warm sunlight made the autumn leaves rustle.

Flauschi handed Puschel one of the steaming cups. Flauschi“The garden will surely wait for one sip.” Puschel accepted it in both paws. Puschel“That is an excellent travel safety rule.”

They shared bread and berries, packed the rest into the basket and tied the glass flower’s green ribbon safely to the handle. When they stood up, its coloured light pointed towards the forest once more. Behind them waited a laid table; ahead began a trail scented with snow, blossoms and adventure.
