The Wusels
What is Wuselhörnchen and who is it for?
Puschel and Flauschi share stories about friendship, feelings and funny mishaps. There are also knowledge articles, recipes and activities. The website is mainly for children aged about 6–10 and their families. This is a guide: children need different levels of help when listening or reading independently. Find out more under For parents.
Are the stories, recipes and printables free?
Yes. You can use the content free of charge and without signing up. A voluntary Wusel contribution lets adults support the project. It is never required and does not unlock extra content.
How are AI tools used for pictures and stories?
Generative AI helps develop texts and pictures. Concepts, selection, editing and publication remain under human responsibility. The characters and stories are fictional. Finished pictures are hosted on our webspace; viewing them does not connect you to an image generator. Read our AI notice.
Using the website
Do we need an account and are there advertisements?
No account is needed. There are no advertisements or public comments. The visitor counter works without cookies and does not create user profiles. Read more under Privacy for children and Privacy.
How do I change text size and Light/Dark?
The “Text & appearance” toolbar offers Normal, Large and Very large text, plus Light and Dark. On the home page it is below the large opening image; on other pages it is at the start of the content. Without a saved choice, the middle size “Large” and Light are selected. Your choice then applies to other pages on the same website address until you change it.
Where are my favourites and preferences stored?
Only in this browser on this device. A favourite is saved only when you press its save button; your text size and appearance are saved when you change them. No account is needed and these saved choices are not sent to us. They are not available on another device or in another browser. Clearing browser data removes them. If storage is blocked, preferences may apply only to the current page. Open my favourites.
When should an adult help?
With cooking and baking, heat, sharp tools and whenever an activity asks for support. Follow Lumi’s notes, consider allergies and check instructions on materials and food packaging. Contact, social networks and voluntary payments also belong in adult hands. Always follow the safety rules on the activity page; For parents offers more guidance.
How are knowledge articles, recipes and help texts checked?
We create and check content with great care and to the best of our knowledge, and correct errors we find. Details can still be wrong or change over time. We cannot guarantee every statement or the success of every activity. Help texts do not replace individual professional advice. Wusel stories are fictional. See About our content.

How can we use printables at home, in school or in after-school groups?
You can download and print the provided PDFs. For activity sheets, use A4 at 100 per cent or “Actual size” and follow any additional instructions in the file. Adults help with printing and cutting. There are dedicated group activities in German for primary schools and after-school groups. If you want to publish material on another website, redistribute it or use it commercially, please discuss the use with Martin Atzinger first via Wusel post.
How can we report an error or get in touch?
Use Wusel post or email info@wuselhoernchen.de. For an error, include the page address and a short description. Children write together with an adult; do not include your address, school, phone number or other private details. If something does not work or content worries you, see Help & report.
