Watermelon Wusel
Watermelon and plenty of water become a pink Wusel drink. Puschel tries it eagerly and gets a tiny melon mark below his mouth.
The little story
The Little Melon Mark
A piece of watermelon lay on the table. Puschel“A pink half-moon!” marvelled Puschel. Flauschi set out two small glasses.
With an adult’s help, they made a light drink from seedless melon flesh and plenty of water. Puschel stirred and tried it first.
When he lowered his glass, a tiny pink melon mark stayed in the fur below his mouth. His black nose was completely clean. Flauschi covered her mouth with one paw and giggled.
Puschel“What is it?” asked Puschel. Flauschi pointed to her own chin. He wiped his mouth with a cloth and joined in the giggling. Puschel“I will watch out on the next sip!”
Preparation: about 10 min
Makes 4 small glasses of about 200 ml
How to make it
In a few words: Blend peeled, deseeded watermelon and dilute with water.
Ingredients
- 200 g ripe watermelon flesh, rind and seeds removed
- 600 ml drinking water
Method
- Wash hands. An adult washes the melon outside, cuts it and removes rind and seeds. Weigh 200 g of flesh.
- An adult blends the flesh briefly with about 100 ml of the water. Alternatively mash finely with a fork and press through a sieve.
- Stir in the remaining 500 ml of water so the drink stays light and liquid.
- Divide between four small glasses and enjoy fresh. No sugar, honey or syrup needed. Stir again before serving.
