Puschel’s Mishaps · 32
The Great Plate Rescue

After breakfast, Puschel wanted to carry every plate back to the cupboard in one trip. The stack almost reached his nose, but Puschel had a simple rule for such occasions: if you can still see a little, there is room for one more plate.
Puschel“One trip, eight plates and definitely no detour!”
At that very moment, the tip of his foot caught the edge of the little kitchen rug. Puschel stumbled forwards and the entire stack tilted dangerously to one side.
Flauschi“I have it!”
Flauschi sprang over and supported the plates with both paws. Together they brought the tower back into balance before even one plate touched the floor.
Once Puschel stood safely on both feet again and held the stack firmly, Flauschi stepped back. She wiped her brow with relief.

Puschel“Eight plates, no pieces and one Flauschi at exactly the right moment!”
Flauschi“And next time: two trips and both eyes on the rug.”
Puschel nodded so carefully that not a single plate wobbled. They walked the rest of the way together—in especially tiny steps.
