Flauschi’s silly movement mirror

Flauschi needs no mirror: Puschel copies her movements. His nose, however, has ideas of its own.

About 5–8 minutes with movement breaks · no equipment · seated options

Before you begin

Listen to the story or read it at your own pace. Put the device aside for the movements. Ask an adult to help prepare clear, non-slip space or a stable seat. You do not need any objects for this imaginary game. You may make any movement smaller, watch or take a break.

1. A mirror without glass

Flauschi and Puschel face each other and each lift a paw.
A mirror without glass

Flauschi lifted a paw to the side. Opposite her, Puschel lifted a paw too.

Flauschi: Hello, my fluffy mirror!

Puschel: Hello back. I can even talk.

Flauschi giggled. She had never had a mirror quite like this.

2. The nose has other plans

Now Flauschi opened her paws. Puschel opened his too. Then his nose twitched.

Puschel: My mirror has a wobble.

Flauschi: I like that one. You can keep it.

They laughed and carried on more slowly.

3. Puschel takes a turn

Puschel leads with a little wave and Flauschi copies him.
Puschel takes a turn

Puschel rested a paw on his tummy. Flauschi copied him. Then he lifted the other as if to wave.

Flauschi: Your mirror waves back.

Puschel: And this time my nose can just watch.

They swapped paws very slowly. Nobody had to hurry.

4. The mirror takes a rest

Flauschi lowered her paws. So did Puschel. Then they blinked almost together.

Puschel: That was a coincidence.

Flauschi: A very cosy coincidence.

Their mirror game was over. Their smiles stayed.
