Four Steps in the Same Rhythm

Puschel stood on the pink spring pedal, while Flauschi took the golden summer one. Ahead waited the orange-red autumn pedal and the icy-blue winter pedal. Whenever a paw touched down, the matching path of light shone towards the wheel.

On their first attempt, Puschel moved too early. Pink light rushed ahead while the golden path merely flickered. On their second attempt, Flauschi was too quick, and they both had to begin again with a laugh.

Puschel“We do not need a race,” Puschel realised. He reached one paw towards Flauschi. She took it, and together they spoke their rhythm: Puschel & Flauschi“Blossom—sun—leaf—snow.”

They stepped onto the first two pedals together, moved to the next pair with a little hop and held one another securely. Four paths of light now travelled evenly through the hub. The wheel completed one full, peaceful turn.

With a deep chime, all the pedals folded away. Four overgrown gates opened around the garden. Beyond them, four paths led in the same direction. Puschel and Flauschi needed no map to know that the centre of the garden was waiting there.
