Every Path Leads to the Centre

Puschel and Flauschi chose the path between spring and summer. Pink blossoms scented the air on their left, while green leaves shone in warm light on their right. Through the hedges, they could see the autumn road and winter trail running beside them.

At first, Puschel thought each path would end somewhere different. Beyond the next bend, however, the trails drew closer together. Four little streams flowed side by side without losing their colours.

When the final arch opened, they stood above a round and silent garden. All four paths ran like the spokes of a wheel towards an empty place at its centre. Only one tiny seed rested there on the soil.

Puschel and Flauschi walked down hand in hand. With every step, light flowed from the four paths towards the seed. First came a green shoot, then a slender trunk and finally four strong branches.

Spring blossoms opened on one branch, summer leaves grew on the second, autumn foliage glowed on the third, and the fourth carried soft snow. The season wheel had done more than put the garden in order. It had awakened its heart.
