Starlight Cocoa by the Shore

Before the crossing, Flauschi made warm berry cocoa with star anise. Puschel arranged two leaf cups—surprisingly straight.

A glowing berry rolled across the blanket. Flauschi caught it and carefully placed it in his cup.

The fragrant steam rose like a trail of light. The fourth spark followed it into the star lantern.

Puschel“Adventures taste better warm,” Puschel decided. Flauschi clinked cups with him while four lights shone across Mirror Pond.
