The Special Hazelnut

Puschel puts a hazelnut in a small wooden bowl as Flauschi watches at the low rectangular coffee table in their familiar autumn room.
One little hazelnut becomes the beginning of a shared Christmas idea.

Puschel held a shiny hazelnut between his paws. He had found it among the other nuts while tidying up. Puschel“I’ll save this one for Christmas,” he said, carefully placing it in the little wooden bowl.

Flauschi moved closer. Puschel“What would you like to do with it?” Puschel thought for a moment.

Puschel“Perhaps it can go into a cake we bake together.” Flauschi smiled. Flauschi“One nut is rather little for a whole cake.”

Puschel looked into the bowl and laughed. Puschel“Then we’ll collect a few more before then!” Beside them, yesterday’s pictures lay in a tidy stack.

Golden leaves glowed through the round window. Flauschi looked at the little nut. Flauschi“Do you know what makes it special?

FlauschiWe already have something to look forward to together.” Puschel nodded. He gently set the bowl aside.

They would choose the recipe later. Today they already had one small ingredient and a shared idea.

Your little preparation

Think together about something you look forward to at Christmas. Draw your shared idea or tell each other about it.

For adults: Nuts are not play materials for young children because they can pose a choking risk. An adult helps with any later baking and takes possible allergies into account.
