Christmas Colours

Flauschi placed three pieces of paper on the table: red, golden yellow and warm orange. Flauschi“Which colours could we use for our Christmas decorations later?” Puschel studied the selection.
Then he took a blue piece from the stack and held it beside them. Puschel“This one is missing!” Flauschi smiled.
Flauschi“Your favourite colour.” Puschel“Blue belongs at Christmas too,” said Puschel. Through the round window, the sky shimmered between the golden leaves.
Flauschi held her red paper next to his blue. Flauschi“They look quite different together.” They tried several pairs.
Sometimes yellow lay beside red, sometimes orange beside blue. They carefully moved the little bowl of nuts aside. Puschel“Do we have to decide today?”
asked Puschel. Flauschi shook her head. Flauschi“Today we can simply look.”
Puschel added his blue to the warm colours. Nothing was being cut out or hung up yet. But the table already held a little glimpse of a Christmas season with room for both their favourite colours.
