The First Apple Scent

Yesterday the invitation could wait on the table. Today something else drifted through the Wuselhouse: a warm apple scent. Flauschi had warmed apple pieces in the kitchen.
Now they were in a little bowl on a trivet, comfortably cooled. Puschel sat beside them and closed his eyes. Puschel“That smells like a cosy afternoon,” he said.
Flauschi smiled. Flauschi“And to me, like a little break.” Puschel sniffed again.
Puschel“Perhaps our party does not need a huge cake first. Perhaps it starts with a bowl we can share.” Flauschi pointed to the apple pieces.
Flauschi“That would be a good beginning.” They tasted them quietly. The invitation and colourful papers lay beside the pencils.
Nobody had to finish a menu today. Puschel looked at one last piece. Puschel“Could anything smell even cosier?”
Flauschi thought of her spice tin. Flauschi“Tomorrow we can discover another scent.” Outside, the golden leaves moved.
Inside, there was time for a little bite and a big idea.
Your little preparation
Talk about a scent you enjoy. Anyone who prefers can simply listen.
For adults: Adults handle heating and hot containers. Let food cool to a comfortable temperature before tasting and consider allergies and intolerances.
