After the deep drift, Puschel decided to mark the safe route for their return. He rolled two snowballs, added twig arms and gave his little guide a carrot nose. Puschel“It will certainly still be standing here next winter.”

Flauschi raised the glass flower by its green ribbon. Its golden petal began to sparkle. Flauschi“I think the summer wind would like to comment on that.” A warm gust was already moving across the hill.

The snowman first leaned politely to one side. Then its upper ball slowly slipped down and rested, dripping, against Puschel’s enormous blue tail. Puschel suddenly sat in meltwater with the carrot beside his ear.

Flauschi pressed a paw to her belly and laughed. Flauschi“Your guide seems to need a rest.” Puschel raised one dripping paw with dignity. Puschel“It is merely testing whether my tail makes suitable summer accommodation.”

Beneath the melting snow, a thin golden line appeared in the ground. It ran exactly where the glass flower pointed. Puschel stood and shook out his tail. Puschel“You see? A very helpful snowman.” Flauschi picked up the basket, and they followed the new trail, still laughing.
