Silver Stream

The map ended where Silver Stream began. No jetty, bridge or marked detour led across.
Puschel held the map against the moon. Puschel“Perhaps the bridge is extremely transparent.” Flauschi knelt at the bank. Flauschi“Or perhaps it is waiting for light.”
She raised the star lantern. A bright stone appeared in the water. Puschel placed one careful paw upon it, and the next lit up in front of Flauschi.
Flauschi“Taking turns,” she realised. Step by step, their paws built a ford of light. They met in the centre and raised the lantern together.
The second spark awoke, and the final stones led to the far bank. Behind them the ford vanished; ahead, Star Hill shone more brightly than before.
