The Spark in Mirror Pond

Beyond Whispering Vale lay a pond as smooth as a dark mirror. The fourth spark hovered above it, but whenever Puschel reached out, it drifted away.

Flauschi“Perhaps it does not want to be caught,” Flauschi said. She sat at the shore, Puschel beside her, and they placed the star lantern between them.

Their paws touched. In the reflection, two slender trails of light became one, and the spark slowly descended.

Puschel“It was only waiting for us to look together,” Puschel whispered. Flauschi leaned against him as the lantern’s fourth light awoke.
