The First Piece of Star Bread

As the sky above Star Hill grew lighter, Flauschi spread out the picnic blanket. She had baked a small star bread from the last berries.

Puschel divided it very carefully. His own piece accidentally became tiny because he secretly nudged the finest star point towards Flauschi.

The fifth spark bounced above both leaf cups and found its place inside the star lantern. At the first bite, a thousand lights appeared over the valley—and season three tasted of berries and home.
