The little Wusel story
Flauschi arranged every leaf as neatly as if it were about to appear on a woodland catwalk. Meanwhile, Puschel sorted them into “golden”, “very golden” and “crispy golden”. Together, they decorated the card strip with leaves, grasses and tiny flowers. When Flauschi’s crown was finished, Puschel balanced three especially large leaves crookedly on his head and bowed. Puschel“Your Woodland Majesty!” Flauschi wore her crown proudly into the clearing. Then she laughed so warmly at Puschel’s leafy little crown that even the forest king began to giggle.
What you need
- one wide strip of sturdy craft card
- clean, dry fallen leaves and grasses
- a few safe non-toxic flowers or paper flowers
- non-toxic craft glue
- rounded child scissors and a soft tape measure
- clips to hold the crown while it dries
How it works
- Collect only natural materials that have already fallen. An adult checks that everything is clean, dry and non-toxic.
- Measure the card loosely around the head, mark the length and ask an adult to cut it to size.
- Arrange the leaves, grasses and flowers on the flat strip before gluing.
- Glue the decorations in place and let everything dry completely.
- An adult closes the ring so the crown fits comfortably without pressing.
Adult help: Adults identify and check every natural material, help with cutting and gluing and make sure the crown fits comfortably. Never use unknown plants, berries or fungi. Young children should not wear the crown unsupervised.
